A rich experience that was both disconcerting and cathartic – my imagination feels flooded with pictures! Beautiful work.
Absolutely hauntingly beautiful. I felt like I was on a trip. My surroundings came to life. I could feel them breathing. Also quite scary at times. The imagery that the sound and words brought forth was intensely vivid.
Excellent experience altogether.
I listened to this piece whilst sitting on the floor, behind curtains, looking into the black night. I appreciated the lyricism of the text, the sound art, and the quality of the vocal performances and of the audio recording. Shades of Beckett.
Disquieting, disconcerting, evocative, beautiful, deep, dark and intense.
I wanted to start all over again when it ended.
A stunning mix of sound, music, voices, words, atmosphere, poetry, rhythm. It is the stuff of dreams and memories – illusive but utterly recognisable moments, experiences, feelings and thoughts.
The sound quality in Earthangel is superb and enables both voices to deliver each word so clearly that they almost sparkle into life. I like the way the soundscape builds and evolves throughout the piece to support an excellent piece of creative writing. There were times where it felt heavy and almost too sombre for my liking (going down into the earth etc.) but it didn’t dwell too much down there thankfully and by the end you are lifted by the duet of voices to raise your spirts (as it were). Well worth a listen in my opinion Well done Gaitkrash – lookng forward to your next production!
I wrote three Haiku’s as a result of some automatic writing I did in response to this gorgeous performance.
Frozen Angel. Stuck.
Uncertain yet exploring.
No end in sight, keep going.
No end in sight.
All the way down. Down, deep down.
You go. Go away.
Up, up and away.
Me, you. Who are we today?
Dead? Alive. Stuck? Breathe.
Thank you and congratulations!
